The Childcare BC New Spaces Fund provides funding to create new licensed child care, helping families access affordable, quality child care and strengthening communities across British Columbia.

Through the New Spaces Fund, the Ministry of Children and Family Development is seeking to maximize the number of spaces in high need areas across the province by focusing on community planning and child care needs.

Hillcrest Out of School Care & Ready Set Grow Preschool has been selected to receive funding to open and operate two learning studio spaces. These studios will allow us to offer an additional 50 childcare spaces to our community. We will be offering additional Out of School Care spaces to Hillcrest Students, additional preschool spaces and we will be opening a full day licensed daycare. These spaces will open during the 2023-24 school year. At this time, we do not have an opening date as construction is currently taking place.
